San Francisco State University is a public research university in San Francisco, California. The Brunson Family Endowment was established in honor of the late English professor Mary-Agnes Taylor. She earned a BA from Texas State University and a MA in Interdisciplinary Studies in the Creative Arts at San Francisco State University. She wrote numerous scholarly articles and served on the Tomas Rivera Award selection committee. She was also involved with the Children’s Literature Association. During her time at SFSU, she taught various courses including a young adult literature class, as well as the first graduate course in children’s literature.
